A Day in Dangjin

We woke up early, but didn't get going right away. We didn't get going until about noon.

Angie's apartment building.

We started the day with a stroll around downtown Dangjin.

We stopped for lunch at Paris Baguette. Kind of like a pastry shop/cafe.

And then continued our stroll through Dangjin.

A fish market (usually much bigger during the 5 day market).

Katie wanted some ice cream so we stopped at Baskin Robbins.

The shabu shabu restaurant we went to the night before is on the top floor of this building.

We were hot after walking around Dangjin in the hot sun so we decided to go back to Angie's apartment. We turned on the air conditioning and Katie took a nap (shocking I know.)

Korean melons (they taste kind of like bananas with the texture of cantaloup, but has the color of a pear).

Katie wasn't sure about it at first, but enjoyed it.

Angie got home early because her principle drove her home so we went back out to downtown Dangjin.

Before dinner we stopped off at the hair salon so Terri could get a haircut. Katie attempted to get her hair colored, but ultimately decided that although it would be cheaper than getting it done in the USA it might not turn out the way she wanted. (They didn't think they could match the color.)

Kelly and Angie waiting at the salon while Terri got her haircut.

Then off to dinner.

Katie was enjoying the sides from our Korean barbecue.

I was being adventurous and trying something new and this is what I get for it.

A closer look at the surprise in my soup. Bones and eyes, but nothing else. Needless to say that was enough for me.

Angie cutting up our meat.

Yes that is a scissors, a meat scissors.

A side of rice for Kelly again, because I know I'm not going to find a dead fish in the rice.

Outside the restaurant.

The streets of Dangjin at night.

A statue put up in honor of Buddha's birthday in the center of town.

There's a foot pool on top of this little hill if you want to dip your feet in for a little cool down.

Then back to Angie's to plan the rest of our trip. We have almost all the whole trip planned now. Katie, Terri and I are heading to Seoul tomorrow to sightsee for a few days. More updates to come.
